Desert Vista Girls Cross Country team competed at the Titan Invitational meet on Friday, October 11th. The meet was held at the challenging Freestone Park track in Gilbert, which was the previous State Championship course.
In the Freshman race, Bella Klein ran a season best 5K time of 21:33 and finished fourth overall. Peyton Martin (24:18) was second for the Thunder girls, finishing in 21st. Finishing third was Jessica Hilts, who ran the course in 25:52 and grabbed 29th place. Teagan Reginald ran 27:25 for 46th place and Jennifer Allen ran 32:27 for 56th, helping the team score a top 4 finish in the Freshman race.
The top three DVCC finishers in the Sophomore-Junior-Senior open race were Olivia Bagby in 8th (22:08), Regan Parnell (23:15) in 22nd, and Ariada Woods (24:14) in 44th. Katie Spreitzer (24:48) in 52nd and Sarai Ortiz (24:52) in 54th completed the scoring as the girls finished fourth out of fourteen teams.
The DVCC Girls’ next meet is the Tempe City Championship race on Wednesday October 23rd at 3:45PM at Kiwanis Park in Tempe. On Saturday October 26th, the DVCC girls travel to Mt Sac Invitational in California to compete against some of the best teams in the nation.
