The Desert Vista Girls Cross Country Yeam competed in the Tempe City Championship 5K race at Kiwanis Park on Wednesday, October 23rd. The DVCC Girls had a perfect score of 15 points in sweeping the top 5 spots.
Grace Ping won the race with a time of 19:34, followed by Katy Clausen 20:42, Olivia Thatcher 20:43, Lauren Ping 20:54, and Bailee Christofis in a time of 21:15. Juniors Quinn and Eve Boardman crossed the line at 21:59 and 22:05. Seniors Josey Gregory and Maddy Shoemaker both came across in 22:17. Julia Nelson posted a 22:33, followed closely by freshmen Savannah Selin and Emily Littlefield who both ran 22:36.
Other notable performances by the DVCC girls included freshman Bella Klein, who ran the course in 23:27 and Freshman Chelsea Condon who crossed the line in 23:53. Sophomore Parker Anderson and Junior Alicia McManus came through in 23:59 and 24:00 respectively, with Freshman Savannah Kveton running 24:20.
