The Desert Vista High School Girls Cross Country Team continued their impressive streak at the Western Equinox Cross Country Festival, delivering strong performances despite some team members being absent due to fall break and preparation for upcoming races. The day was picturesque, with cooler temperatures setting the stage for some exciting racing.
In the Varsity girls division, Teagan Kelly took the lead for the Thunder, finishing 6th with a time of 20:49.4, while Vanessa Acedo secured 19th place with a time of 21:53.6. Both Teagan and Vanessa were awarded medals for their performance. Lydia Leeman, despite facing tough competition, finished 23rd in 21:59.6, showcasing her determination. Ali Collins added to the team's success with a 28th-place finish in 22:11.3.
In the open race, Bethany Yaso and Abby Fedyski continued to impress, finishing 13th (23:58.9) and 15th (24:01.9) respectively. The team spirit was evident, with Kaelyn Albrechtsen (26:19), Anna Kenchington (26:50), Vittoria Valentini (27:51), Olivia Patno (29:10), Camila Serrano (29:21), and Kara Graziano (30:35) giving it their all.
