Desert Vista High School's Cross Country team displayed their prowess at the 29th Annual Chandler Invitational this past Saturday, showcasing an exceptional blend of individual excellence and teamwork. The competition was fierce, but Desert Vista rose to the occasion, making their mark in multiple grade categories.
The Junior Girls took center stage, clinching 1st place in their division. Dana Pivin's exceptional performance stood out as she claimed the top spot in her race with a dazzling time of 19:46. Vanessa Acedo and Ali Collins further solidified the team's success with 10th and 15th place finishes, respectively. Not to be outdone, Brooklyn Hanania delivered a spectacular performance in the Senior Girls race, securing 1st place with a lightning fast time of 18:06. he Thunder grabbed sixth place in the Sophomore Race, led by Lydia Leeman in 24th (22:10). Emerson Rhodes finished 6th with a time of 20:22 to lead the DVCC Girls to a fifth-place finish in the Freshman Race.
Overall, Desert Vista High School's Cross Country team showcased their dedication and talent, earning a well-deserved 1st place overall title in the Girls' division.
