Desert Vista High School's Cross Country team displayed their prowess at the 29th Annual Chandler Invitational this past Saturday, showcasing an exceptional blend of individual excellence and teamwork. The competition was fierce, but Desert Vista rose to the occasion, making their mark in multiple grade categories.
The Freshmen boys led the charge, securing a resounding 1st place finish, with Owen Phelps leading the pack in 3rd place with a remarkable time of 17:22. Jacob Leucker, La’a Hancock, Trenton Shirley, and Enrique Ballesteros Libarra also contributed to this victory with top 25 finishes in their race, displaying a promising future for the team.
DVCC was led to a third-place finish in the Seniors race by Team Captain Braden Lolli, who placed 7th overall with a time of 16:25. The Thunder took fifth place in the Juniors race, led by Maxton Klein in 15th (17:06). In the Sophomore Race, Alex Hammond finished in 8th (17:22) to lead DVCC to an fourth-place finish.
Overall, Desert Vista High School's Cross Country team showcased their dedication and talent, earning a strong 2nd place overall finish for the Boys.
