The Desert Vista High School Boys Cross Country Team once again demonstrated their incredible prowess at the Western Equinox Cross Country Festival, held under clear skies and perfect racing conditions. With determination in their hearts, our Thunder athletes raced brilliantly, leaving a lasting impression.
In the Varsity division, our boys secured a remarkable 2nd place overall. Alex Hammond led the charge with a stellar 11th-place finish, crossing the line in 17:23.5, followed closely by Feliha'a Hancock in 13th place with a time of 17:26.5. Owen Phelps (17:41), Jacob Luecker (17:42), Ricky Garibay (17:49.2), Mason Klann (17:49.5), and Kaden Evans (18:22) all contributed to this outstanding team performance.
In the Boys Open Race, the Thunder runners showcased their incredible spirit. Alexander Braaten (18:14) and Cameron Track (18:15) shone brightly with 7th and 8th place finishes, respectively. Cade Baumann (18:25), Josh Jarvis (18:41), Trenton Shirley (18:53), Connor Burdette (18:58), LeWills Caneus (19:01), Abhay Mane (19:01), and others also demonstrated their determination and dedication and contributed to the teams success.
